2023 WRAP UP: PRODUCT EDITION
It's been a big year in the Planks universe so we wanted to tell you all about it. Read on to discover some of our biggest product news, design updates, and brand collaborations from 2023.
GOOD TIMES JACKET
This year, we've given our fan-favourite Good Times Jacket a number of upgrades based on loads of rider testing & feedback. Our favourite is its new body-mapped insulation, which is designed to minimise unwanted bulk while keeping you warm in all the right places. Say goodbye to armpit bunching and tight shoulders.
We've also added a more durable rip-stop fabric to the shoulder & upper arm to protect your jacket from nicks and tears from hauling skis on your shoulders. Lastly, we've introduced new fully waterproof YKK Aquaguard zips to keep you and your gear dry, even if you're stuck in a blizzard.
SLIDE AWAY & GATEWAY
Our Slide Away Jacket and Gateway Anorak are our two new outerwear styles for 2023. Streetstyle inspired with versatility at the core, these jackets are designed to take you from your morning commute to last lifts, and be as equally comfortable at home as in the mountains. Made from 10k/10k recycled polyester, these jackets combine true ski jacket functionality built with everyday styling in mind. The Slide Away and Gateway are so much more than just a ski jacket that gets hauled out once a year.
YETI SERIES
The Yeti Series has been a staple part of Planks’ outerwear collection since its introduction. Over the last decade (and then some), we’ve learned a lot about designing outerwear and what’s needed for exploring the mountains comfortably. For 2023, we've brought back the Charger and Roamer, our 3-layer shell apparel designed for serious freeride skiers looking for durable, high-performance gear. With fully taped seams, the 2-way stretch fabric is bonded to Planks’ most waterproof and breathable 20k/20k membrane for maximum performance. This is feature-loaded, freeride apparel that won’t let you down.
MELON X PLANKS
In March, we paired up with our friends at Melon Optics to bring you the Melon X Planks Kingpin Sunglasses. Designed to lead the way in style and performance, the Kingpin lets you show the mountain who's boss.
What's so special about the Kingpin? The lenses are from ZEISS’s Performance lens range, which filters light to give you the optimum view of the environment ahead. Both lenses are impact resistant, anti-scratch, water repellent, anti-reflective, and provide 100% UV protection. What more could you want in a pair of shades?
PLANKS ON RAINKISS
Earlier this year we collaborated with Amsterdam-based brand, Rainkiss. This collab combines the signature Rainkiss rain poncho and bucket hat with our street style inspired brush stroke print. 100% recycled polyester and properly one-size, we couldn't wait to get one of this season's key prints on the Rainkiss Poncho. Whether you’re on the mountain or in the rainstorm, Planks and Rainkiss have got you covered.
