I've been riding for Mikaela
How and where to begin with this season?
It started off so well down in New Zeeland with some good competition results and I felt like this was going to be an awesome winter (here is a link to a Swedish article about my consecutive podiums http://www.freeride.se/content/6826/).

But then something happened, around Christmas we lost our dearest friend, Mikaela Scherrer in an avalanche in Verbier. My world suddenly turned upside down and I didn’t know what to think or what to feel. I was battling with my feelings for snow and skiing and kind of entered a hate-love relationship. Not long after that happened my brother called from Japan and told me a pillow line had gone wrong for him, where he ended up upside down in a creek well, and by the time his friends dug him out he was blue in the face. What was all this coming from?
A lot of all this hate that I was feeling left me when I went down to the Alps, first to Austria and then to Verbier. Because there I could feel Mikaela's presences so strongly, and her wish was not for all of us to stop riding, instead she wanted us to ride for her, but under safe circumstances. And therefore, her amazing brothers and her lovely friends created a foundation called Skiers Left with the purpose to educate and inform the youth for a safer stay in the alpine environment.

Here is a few photos from Hochfugen, Austria.
I tried to get into the competition here but I was too late to register. I haven’t been doing any comps in Europe this winter because of physiotherapy school keeping me busy in Umeå, but next year you will for sure see me doing the FWQ.

Åre had a great season this year and we already had snow in October! This is how happy we were hiking and skiing Skutan then:

Happy!
"We're skiing powder at the top, see you there?" I wrote this in the top shelter in Åre when we stopped for lunch and it actually ended up in an article in Magasin Åre.

Here are the naked ski bums saying good bye for this season!
So stay safe out there people and enjoy the joy that skiing gives you. And share the experience with your friends and the joy will be double! I will always be riding for you, our brave and lovely Mikaela. You are my hero! <3
