The Woodsy Planks Store Tour Wrap Up
Last week freeskiing legend James Woodsy Woods headed out to visit us in the Alps straight off the back of his X Games Gold medal!
Kicking things off in Morzine, the Planks team had organized a photo shoot for Woodsy’s own signature series within the Planks range next year! With Morzine local Sam Ingles behind the lens we can’t wait to see the final images and release the 17/18 range to you guys!
With local interviews under his belt and a quick stop to the Planks Clothing Morzine store to pick up some fresh threads, Sunday saw the first Planks Park day with Woodsy! Hosted up in Snowpark de la Chapelle, there was a super stoked crew of riders ready to shred. With the tunes blasting, the riders started warming up on the kickers. After intros and some tips from the man himself, Woodsy got the rail jam underway which we streamed live from the Planks Clothing - Morzine page. Everyone threw down, and with spot prizes from Planks the stoke was high! With Woodsy’s advice, pretty much everyone learnt a new trick, tried a new rail or jump for the first time or just honed in their style and got those old ones locked in!
After wrapping things up on the mountain, everyone headed down to the Planks Clothing Morzine store for a signing session with Woodsy and a cheeky beer at Chez Rogers. Mountain TV brought their rig down for quick interview with Woodsy before leading the charge to Café Chaud for the after party and Shredits Battle Laps screening!

Next stop was the Planks Store in Meribel! Holiday makers and seasonnaires alike came to meet Woodsy! He signed the usual posters, skis, ski boots, tees, hats, even a hotel room card, the lot. Woodsy answered all types of questions, gave tips for trying out new tricks and landing them, general chat, he’s a Star Wars fan by the way! The general feedback from the fans was that Woodsy was a really nice and friendly guy and they all a great time meeting him. Smiles all round!
To finish the tour Woodsy headed over to the birthplace of Planks; the Tarentaise valley! Kicking off in Tignes the shop crew put on an epic park shred day! With the best turn out of the tour so far, everyone got to hiking the rails over in Tignes Park with some prizes handed out for bangers!
After a decent rail shred everyone headed down to the Planks Clothing and Coffee shop in Val Claret for a meet and greet! Woodsy was hyped on a cuppa Yorkshire tea whilst signing posters, meeting the Tignes crew and stoked out on the smoothies!
Last night called for a party night in the Blue Note Bar in Val d’isere, a few beers down, Woodsy signed off an epic few days shredding here in the Alps!
