KEEPING GEAR IN PLAY
How to give your gear the loving that it deserves.
How to give your gear the loving that it deserves.
Washing instructions are printed on a white tag inside the product. Our ski gear can be machine washed or hand washed with cold water (30°). Rinse to ensure removal of any detergent from the fabric surface. Always wash separately from other garments. Before washing, empty all pockets and secure all zippers. Do not use bleach or softeners.
When drying, keep the gear away from direct heat. Don’t dry clean, iron dry or tumble dry your gear.
Washing instructions are printed on a white tag inside the product. If you have a print on the garment, we recommend turning it inside out. Wash at 30°and avoid tumble drying.
Our outerwear is coated with solvent-free Durable Water-Repellent finish (DWR). It’s normal for gear to lose its water-repellency over time and/or multiple washes. If you notice that the water is no longer beading on the product surface and it’s feeling soggy, it’s time to re-coat your coat (or jacket, or pants).
We recommend using Nikwax. Either their Tech-Wash or TX.Direct Wash-In are great. Follow the wash instructions that these products provide, as guidance may vary depending on the product and fabric.
When you’ve had a piece of outerwear for a long period of time, it isn’t uncommon to see some general wear and tear. Many people use duct tape to patch up old ski pants, this may be a short-term fix, but it is actually damaging and can make it much harder to repair the garment properly in the future. We recommend buying outerwear repair patches or tape, which can easily be purchased online. There are a variety available on the market, so find some that match your jacket’s colour and fabric type.
Our manufacturer warranty is two years and we work with two of the best outdoor clothing repair specialists in the EU (Green Wolf) and UK (LSR) to make sure that any repair work is of the highest quality.
Our warranty only applies to goods for which the original purchase receipt can be provided. Handwritten receipts are not accepted. Alteration of Planks products will void warranty. Should any garment’s key features or functions fail due to a manufacturing defect, we will repair it without charge or, if the defect cannot be repaired, provide a replacement.
Our first option is always to repair the garment. If it is not repairable, we will gladly replace it. Please understand we may be out of stock or no longer carry a particular product style or colour, if a suitable replacement cannot be found we will offer a full refund of the price paid.
Normal wear and tear, and damage from unforeseen accidents are unavoidable, therefore, rips and tears to fabrics are not covered under warranty.
